In a trance

In a trance ….by Sadje

Sadje/ Sadie's avatarKeep it alive

She kept staring at the stroboscopic light like in a trance

Her mind wandered light years away like she was in another universe

What was she thinking, what was her mind seeking, they wondered

Was the hypnosis working? Will the secrets be unlocked by this experiment

Will they find the right wavelength to unlock the hidden thoughts?

The light kept blinking off and on, and she kept staring at it like in a trance

The mind is a powerful tool on its own
Capable of more than we give credit for
but our inability to unlock certain mysteries has us searching for more.

Come, let’s explore our minds
secrets, they say. It promises a
tranquil experience.

Stroboscopic flickering lights
mesmerize, set to a precise
wavelength, entrainment
through hypnosis, they say.
It’s confusing, I say.

But this induced trance like state
is a blissful escape, as we float
through our mind – subconscious
and conscious become one, they say.

The mind is a powerful tool on its own.

I think I’ll sit this one out.
Perhaps I’ll figure it out
on my own, I say.

Me In You

Me in You …..by Michelle Navajas

Me In You

i’d love to have a stroboscopic device so i can measure how your heart works
for no single piece of electrocardiogram device could calculate
the massive amount of love you have for a daughter like me.

i am not every mother’s dream for her little girl to be
i don’t like barbie dolls or being dolled up myself
i’d rather be where there lies a pile of newspapers to read
i’d rather be hypnotized by what it has to say ’bout the world we live in.

and that’s okay, ‘cos i am with you curled up against the pile
of newspapers, in a trance, as we struggle to decipher all of the crossword puzzles
papa, i’m okay without barbie dolls and princess gowns
as long as you’re with me in our perfect wavelength of entrainment.

i’d love to have a stroboscopic device so i can measure how…

Hypnotic Methods

There is useful stroboscopic form in repeated lies.
A designed hypnosis on those who seek to ‘belong’.
That propagandized system breeds allies.
There is useful stroboscopic form in repeated lies.
Who believes tales oft recycled is unwise.
Too few will e’er admit when they are wrong.
There is useful stroboscopic form in repeated lies.
A designed hypnosis on those who seek to ‘belong’.

Psychology

Psychology …. by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

Word clouds are supposed to be great for visualizing unstructured text data and getting insights on trends and patterns.  When I see wavelength, stroboscopic, hypnosis, trance and entrainment grouped together, it makes me think about psychology.  Psychology is the mental process involved with thinking about thoughts, manipulating information, forming concepts, engaging in problem solving, reasoning things out so we can make decisions, and this act of thinking ends up producing more thoughts.  The frequency of a wave is inversely proportional to its wavelength, so waves with a high frequency have a short wavelength.  The human eye is only able to detect light wavelengths from 380 to 700 nanometers, and this is what we refer to as visible light.  We are not able to see things with shorter or longer wavelengths, so we can’t see radio, infrared, ultraviolet, X-ray, or gamma-rays, which are all around us.  A man must know his…

A new way to watch television, going on brain wavelength, and companies like Sky, and Virgin taken over. Entertrainment they called it. Training your brain to be immersed in a world so perfect, what was going on outside mattered little.

In a trance like state, you could stream all your favourite shows, even walk with extinct creatures if you wanted to. Wildlife programs were always popular. A trip to Africa. Certainly sir, madam. All you need is three hundred credits and the world is yours.

Strobscopic, the company you could also work for, making components for the machines, readily used in homes across the world. Nobody knew who invented this new device, but being part of your own entertainment, enlightening.

Chelsea could remember a time, when she was in her thirties, going to the supermarket, buying her shopping. Driving her car into the country – of course…

Conscious Fashion

The survivor took great pride in declaring its Indian origin, and the philosophy of non-violence practised by a section of the population. “I pierced the cocoon to come out and am living a full life. The manufacturers still get the silk they need to make those luxurious and visually delightful sarees, but without killing the … Continue reading Conscious Fashion

All that is local

“This is the art that brought me to another country. I was invited by a resident to decorate the alleys with cheap material, and I used rice powder.” “Anybody can do it.” “Yes. Maybe they can. But I kept innovating with my art. The movement from rice powder to vibrant  colours got me international fame. … Continue reading All that is local
