Wordless

Pastel blue, pink, and gold ink swirling through a glass of water

I have reached a time when words no longer help
they slip out of my neural pathways
to become paragraphs, poems or stories
perfect prompts to generate fantasy

they take me on a spin
align with themes
check for appropriateness
and distance themselves from
the feelings that mothered them

I find them floating in tints on my canvas
In subscripts to generated artwork
If I let them have their way
they will rename me every moment
till I become a stranger to myself

I retreat into silence
the wordless world, though alien
feels strangely comfortable
like a mother’s womb
with no names or identities
yet boundless with potential
within dark confines

First Line used
