Between worlds

Crescent moon over a starry fantasy valley with mountains and winding river

She carries something inside her
It makes her eyes glow in the dark

like secrets of the unknown worlds
-between planets
-between lifetimes

She is the author of all tales
beyond life; beyond fantasy

like assumptions shaping stories
-between mindsets
-between narratives

She is the supreme temptation
who invites, only to stand apart

Like a diaphanous veil
-between the Universe and me
-between the horizon and sea

She is the moon; she is the night
She is everything that filters light

  1. I love the shape and form of your poem, Reena, and the sparse use of punctuation, only hyphens, which make it spiky. You’ve created an almost palpable character here, the ‘author of all tales beyond life;’ and ‘supreme temptation’.
