Fractured Harmony

The crown on the head glows, but meets
manacles on the way down

fettered feet jingle all the way to court
eye-witness spills the beans

the shrinking moon sleeps in peace
post-purging secrets of the night

  1. A powerful and thought-provoking poem! The contrast between the crown and the manacles beautifully captures the fleeting nature of power and the inevitability of accountability. The imagery of the shrinking moon adds a haunting sense of silence, as though the night itself is guarding its secrets. A wonderful use of fragmented couplets to convey deeper truths.
