It does not excite me any more
-getting drenched in the rain
sailing paper boats
rescuing a puppy
despite soiled clothes
I’m not blessed any more
clouds warn
thunder threatens
the sky hums different tunes
I cannot touch my childhood
except in old albums
“The sky hums different tunes” – wow. I love the imagery here. What a great expression of being far, far away from happier times. Powerful writing, this is.
