It does not excite me any more
-getting drenched in the rain
sailing paper boats
rescuing a puppy
despite soiled clothes
I’m not blessed any more
clouds warn
thunder threatens
the sky hums different tunes
I cannot touch my childhood
except in old albums

A tale of the change brought on by time.

Beautifully poignant. 🌧️ Childhood has a way of turning ordinary things—rain, paper boats, muddy clothes, a rescued puppy—into unforgettable adventures.

As we age older, we outgrow certain things that used to be exciting in our childhood. Nice poem, Reena! 👍
