Out of Order

Tiny slivers of historical evidence cannot withstand the scrutiny of critics and the superimposition of meaning by those in power.

Books are written, rewritten, translated, interpreted and destroyed till approved textbook versions take their place.

Children memorise those not out of curiosity, but to pass exams. They have been programmed anyway, unwittingly and unconsciously.

The table reverberates with the amplified sound of political chicanery (they need no crowds or loudspeakers, just LED screens), and the dolls fall over each other. Identities are mingled and mangled.

Can you rearrange facts in chronological order, or go with the latest version on YouTube?

  1. “Welcome … to the machine.”

Paperless (paper shredded once document scanned) electronic file systems that can modify documents at-will existed 8 yrs ago, when I retired. It’s all moot now.
