Perfection is nothing but a goal, and goalposts can shift.
It feels good when I move it and challenge myself to excel at something I’ve not tried before.
It breaks and bends my effort like a heavy boulder on the back when imposed, and we get busy rationalising why it is all wrong and will lead us nowhere.
The context matters. The boundaries matter. Frameworks matter. Perfection is undefinable without them.
Hence, it is so easy to tear down someone’s effort by changing the narrative.
The sky is a perfect framework for the Earth with its boundless, intangible nature.
Colours shoot out of a prism to stain it, but end up decorating it instead.
It takes courage to juxtapose the flawless sky with shapeless patches, and yet stand out with your uniqueness.
Cheers to every splash of colour and every grey cloud that dares to float.
Perfection is achievable if you keep narrowing the boundaries. Every research scholar knows it. They need to give a structure and pass plagiarism tests for a piece that originated from your mind. No thought comes from a vacuum. It is an offshoot of the subconscious, experience and planted thoughts. And yet, they need to prove their unprecedented nature.
It is not possible unless you compress the box and deny the existence of everything outside it.
Perfection should be targeted for repetitive tasks that require accuracy. Robots were invented not to fail in given frameworks.
Thought leaders are disruptive. They keep dismantling old frameworks to build new ones, only to be dismantled by someone else.
Perfection is ephemeral. It is bound to change form or cease to exist in the long run.

so good, Reena! I enjoyed this! ❤

Great post, Reena and thanks for sharing your wisdom. I like what you said that in order to achieve perfection, you must paint between the lines. I like this quote from Vince Lombardi: “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Very true, Reena! 👍 Perfection, indeed, doesn’t last long. So, chasing perfection is difficult. Excellent!
