I often find places of scenic beauty associated with places of worship.
Maybe these structures were built there to enhance the spiritual experience. The current political scenario also makes me wonder if it was intended as an act of conquest.
temples crown the peaks,
built where silence meets the sky
faith or conquest’s mark
The perceived intent spoils the experience for me.
I love the mountain peaks that rehome God, but stand strong in their uniqueness. They shoulder responsibility lightly – of being storehouses of the faith that pilgrims carry.
winds whisper secrets,
hills stand strong in godless grace
pilgrims leave their prayers
I keep sauntering around to listen to the winds whispering secrets. They confess to admiring the almost atheist strength of the hills, something that only entities with tremendous strength can do.

It is beautiful, I can see where you can find peace and tranquillity.

The Kedarnath Temple is a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva and it looks like a wonderful place for sauntering. Thanks for joining in with your lovely post, Reena.
