opinionated missiles
strike the mirror hard
crack it open
to un-myth
lies
there’s no hidden enemy
-a bunch of mercurial stories
I was told about myself
stare back
I just cross over
Invisible thresholds
to find myself
and there’s no turning back
ever after

Reena, I love how you turn the cracked mirror into a doorway of self-discovery, showing that the real myths to overcome are the stories we carry about ourselves.

Glad you liked it. The stories that we carry about ourselves and others are equally important.

Powerful words, we look at our mirror image and sometimes it surprises our emotional state.

I think you hit on something there with “un-mything the lies.” There is plenty of that going on around the world.
