I bought a repository of thoughts
-to internalise
make me wise
-I fingered pages with love
burnt eyesight at midnight
and yet…
The wise refused to speak
with my unsteady voice
-dedication discarded
-devotion ignored
borrowed words jumped back
into trembling amber flames
I burnt the library
to light up my soul
-nurture usurped thoughts
to blend with my own
-patch up broken pieces
emerge as a whole
I cast shadows on the floor
quilted with uniqueness
crafted to invite encores
characters dance in the dark
I embrace stories on a roll
Words etched in truth,
echo only my proof.

Wowza!

I also like what vermavkv said about:
“...painful but necessary transformation from merely absorbing knowledge to truly internalizing and becoming it.”
*a compliment on your choice of words that grab (certain) Readers by the lapels and say, ‘Hey!’

This is an extraordinarily powerful piece of poetry — raw, intelligent, and deeply symbolic. 🔥✨
The journey from borrowing wisdom to creating your own truth is expressed with such striking imagery. “I burnt the library to light up my soul” is an unforgettable line; it captures the painful but necessary transformation from merely absorbing knowledge to truly internalizing and becoming it.
