You know when …

When you struggle to reach up there and find
The gods have turned their faces away,
You know it was an error of judgment—
to trust the vision from afar.

Between the halo and the face lies shadow,
a gulf of silence no prayer can cross.
The smile you worshipped dissolves
into the cold indifference of apathy.

Yet from that fracture of faith,
a truer light begins to stir—
not borrowed from gods who turn away,
but rising from the embers within.

  1. faith, at least the kind of faith that is imposed, can be a impediment… yet true faith is all powerful (this kind of faith having no need for facts or rationalization, explanation of proof… is a way of being, not a way of thinking)
