You are gone, but yet live in mirrors mocking my deemed identity We never saw eye to eye but your sharp words jump out from my defiance I did not wish to be you yet, I am
Reena, what a profound realization about your mother. This is an excellent nonet!! I lived with a stepmother for many years and like you, I didn’t ever want to be like her. Yet, there are times when I realize I sound like her! It makes me step back and take another look at my thought process.
My mother had lost her mother at the age of 9, and did not have a role model. In her late years, I found her behaving like her mother-in-law. There may be a subconscious process of imbibing.
i so love your approach …. not all is well in motherhood… there is a story in every child… the splash of passion and rebellion is how i see that cup… and still i am whose blood runs through my veins.. who gave me life in pure love… the best i couldn’t have said it better…

You are right that it is complex. A genetic bond between two individuals with different temperaments compels them t keep moving forward.

We inherit a medley.
Our personalities are carved by trimming out what we don’t like and retain the essence of us.
