Reena’s Xploration Challenge #421

Welcome back!

PROMPT #421

Yesterday, I met a neighbor who spoke about being fleeced by a vet, and how our love for our beloved pets is commercially exploited.

It set me thinking about how we are being fleeced every moment – of our beliefs, our trust, our wealth of all kinds. We are not sure how are we going to cover the bare spots again.

Here are a few fictional scenarios.

If reading these random musings inspires something in you, just do a stream-of-consciousness piece. Don’t over-edit the piece to fit any particular format or word limit.

There is no restriction on the length of the piece. There is no last date unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

We will not include any posts that are found to be offensive, vulgar, or that hurt ordinary sensibilities. This needs to be a safe space.

  1. This is beautifully visceral—the way you weave the personal ache of your neighbor’s story into these larger cosmic metaphors. The quilt analogy hits especially hard; that image of seeing your warmth woven into someone else’s pattern captures the unique violation of betrayal. And that ending line—”It’s not a comfort. It’s a revelation.”—that’s the kind of truth that stops you mid-breath. Raw, unflinching, and strangely freeing. Thank you for this.🌷🤝
