  2. I am lucky that my children are close by and safe. I cannot imagine how I would feel if that were different. Those with power do not seem to think about those people on the ground just trying to survive.

  3. my son and I are in different countries, facing the same threat – violence aimed at us for being born who we are. and yet, I manage to keep hope alive that we will see each other again, perhaps even in a world where women and girls are no longer oppressed by barbaric overlords. nice write ~
