There’s a life out there
It calls me at night
But there’s no light
The bars block my flight
They let in the fragrance
of worlds that sing and dance
Beneath the sky and stars
Dream of Moon and Mars
I’m there to celebrate freedom
shackled feet left behind
spirits soar, fly and swim
Mermaids whisper in my mind
oceans open their arms
mountains echo my song
winds carry my name
to places I belong
Though shadows hold me still
my heart has learned to roam
each dream a secret key
unlocking worlds unknown

These are vivid dreams of freedom with a smooth rhythm and some lovely imagery. Nicely done Reena 👏

Beautiful poem, Reena. If our imaginations must roam to get away from our prisons, that’s what we do. You reminded me of the movie, “Brazil,” which is devastatingly sad, but the MC found a way to escape.
