Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) is one of India’s longest-running sitcoms, first aired on July 28, 2008 on Sony SAB, created by Asit Kumarr Modi and produced by Neela Film Productions.
It is based on columnist Tarak Mehta’s Gujarati work Duniya Ne Undha Chashmah.
The show revolves around the residents of Gokuldham Society, portraying unity in diversity through humor and everyday challenges.
With over 4,500 episodes, TMKOC blends comedy with social messages, making it a cultural phenomenon. Its characters—Jethalal, Bhide, and others—have become household names, offering laughter while reflecting Indian middle-class life

I had to do a little math to figure out how often the show aired if they had 4,500 totla shows over 17 years (since 2008) and then it looks like it was five per week – hahah – jst like most soaps here.
