I’m now ready to let it go
it was a feast, but now it’s stale
stomachs rumble with aftertaste
retention makes it toxic now
most things have an expiry date
I’m now ready to let it go
relationships- no exception
we outgrow people as we move
if there was a closure, all’s good
if not, there is nothing to grieve
I’m now ready to let it go
there’ll be other bends down the road
refresh, renew, reinvent me
evolved versions crawl out from shells
balanced, mature, immune to hurt
I’m now ready to let it go

I was in a one-sided relationship for about a year. And then it went south… And it may remain that way. Yes, I like your words, time to move on even if there isn’t the closure one would like.

And at one stage, we wonder what attracted us and would it have been worthwhile.

One tries to be nice,… but then when things fall apart – and the truth is out… all that is left is ‘nice’ at a distance (perhaps at least a ten foot pole distance).

Very well written, Reena. Let go and move forward is often the best way to live.

It is a matter of mindset. At times there is no other option. At times, it is a choice.

To reach that point is a huge victory… and maybe a little tingle of excitement to seek those new doors that may open for you.

Yes, of course. We often forget that adventures await us on the other side.
