Ab initio, Ad Infinitum

Doors that open or close
Doors that respond to knocks
or don’t
-each door hides a story
stories that deserve a mention
or a coffin underground

Did their hearts stop beating
or I chose to un-listen?
-decibels well-adjusted
below my hearing range

Did they migrate to receptive soils
or transmute to strange forms?
Each act of mine speaks volumes.
Each word echoes the underground

What lies beyond the last door
is another transition, another story, another world
There is no end to a life or soul
We keep rotating on a wheel
Ab initio, Ad infinitum ….

  1. This is o beautiful, Reena. Brilliant.

‘…What lies beyond the last door
is another transition, another story, another world
There is no end to a life or soul
We keep rotating on a wheel
    Ab initio, Ad infinitum …’

This thought is good for the heart.

  2. And yet there are some who believe that once is all we have and when life is gone… that’s all she wrote.

Though I do like some of the Sci-Fi shows that allow for various life forms to met up in the future… or those that allow visits from the past… a never ending view of limited souls just getting recycled.

  3. This is a profoundly contemplative and beautifully layered piece. 🌌 I love how the imagery of doors becomes a metaphor for life, choices, and the unknown, while your reflections on listening, migration, and transformation evoke both curiosity and reverence. The philosophical undertone—“Ab initio, Ad infinitum”—gives the poem a timeless, cyclical resonance, reminding us of the continuity of life and soul. Truly a thought-provoking and hauntingly elegant meditation. ✨🖤
