“The Six Sentence Bistro Café is closed for the week” – Nope, it isn’t, but I wish it were.
The regulars are all there, waving at me, and the bartender is moving on roller skates with a tray delicately balanced in expert hands.
I stare at the white expanse on my screen and feel nothing.
How I wish words were in a tearing hurry to stain the page, and readers were eager to lap it up, but I’ve been ghosted.
It looks like the muse is on a well-deserved holiday, and I need to summon a replacement.
I wave out to the regulars sipping their drinks and step out, hoping to meet them in better shape next week.

Some days, and weeks are ‘drier’ than others.
All the best for continued visits from the muse 🙂

hate to contradict the author “How I wish words were in a tearing hurry to stain the page, and readers were eager to lap it up, but I’ve been ghosted.”
but you do realize you haven’t, don’t you?…
ideas are not checks, valueless without the signature of the owner, they are artifacts with value like certain shells used as money by some indigenous people in north american… serving as both currency and media of diplomacy
especially a ‘place’ such as the shared metaphor of the Six Sentence Café & Bistro
if I might be so bold: the floor plan is a rectangle. the bar runs down along the short end where the entrance is, the open area for tables and such are in the remaining 3/4s of the space on the interior wall a small stage for entertainment… (no, wait… )
along the exterior walls are alcoves (created by structural buttresses) in each, a table and a privacy curtain (quite diaphanous…i.e. the more curtains the more privacy) in any event, you are welcome to sit at one of these alcoves (table service is available… why, yes, that is a corded velvet rope for that very purpose)
Welcome to the Six Sentence Café & Bistro

Wow! Your description of the bar makes me want to do a sketch of it. 😀
