Spoilt for choice, she decided to walk away from all of it—the glittering offers, the curated futures, the voices that told her what she should want.
She wandered into the quiet, beyond the reach of algorithms, where Google Maps could not identify her precise location.
She imagined someone posting her picture with a caption “Lost and Lonely” but no one was around and she was certainly not lonely.
Most likely, it could be a picture from her previous existence, saying “Missing … Have you seen her somewhere?”, but there would be no response because her older version had disappeared in thin air.
Why was she doing this?
To lead a life free of obligations where nobody could take credit for building her career or finding her a wealthy groom.

Rebirth is a choice for those who see the future as a bright mist, and the past as the gray dust of used to be.

really liked the phrase “…the curated futures.“
despite the temptation to roll out the old chestnut: ‘Desire is the root of all suffering’
I’m thinking a less famous saying is ‘What it is is all that it is’

Her choices have made her a new creation. Sometimes the old needs to go.
