Writing

I’m scared.

I’m also in awe of myself, though it sounds immodest.

Where do these words come from?

They scar the screen like lava flowing out of a volcano. They wash all that has been inscribed for ages, like a tsunami from the depths of the ocean. They burn down all scripts and uproot the oaks that shelter me.

The world as I have known it ceases to exist. The yellow fog that rubs its back upon the window-panes fails to catch my attention.

A white light envelops me, and suddenly, I find the core of my existence.

I become aware of an invisible architecture that has been there all along, holding me together – bridges being formed between unknown spaces.

The achievements flaunted on profiles become meaningless. I am fully immersed in what is emerging now, and where it will take me in future.

  1. Writing is scary, Reena. We can only control the mechanical part, the physical writing or typing, but the conception is immaculate, and where do the words come from? Only other writers really understand what it means to be fully immersed – enjoy the ride!
