She sat in the chair, just staring off into space.
She wondered if Neil could see her from his spaceship. Maybe he is out on a spacewalk.
“It is not easy”, he had told her, “it takes a lot of practice to experience nothingness.”
She rummaged inside to check what her feelings were like.
Is it okay to stay here looking for a hope? Or should she fill up her life with action that makes her forget everything else?
There was a stark truth painted in gold on the dark sky. He wanted to end the relationship before he left.

Where there once was closeness there now is immeasurable distance, both figuratively and literally, it seems. Such a sad tell well told.

This is a beautifully haunting and contemplative piece. 🌌 The imagery of her sitting still, lost in thought, contrasted with Neil drifting among the stars, captures both distance and intimacy in such a profound way. The metaphor of “practicing nothingness” adds depth, making us reflect on the fragile balance between holding onto hope and seeking distraction. And that final line—painted truth against the dark sky—lands with quiet, devastating power. 💔✨ Your writing evokes longing, solitude, and the aching poetry of love and loss with grace and tenderness.
