Career Preparedness

She had never met a person as toxic and abusive as her boss. The girl in the next cubicle gently warned her to be circumspect in her speech, as the femme fatale who was her boss was rumoured to be close to the CEO.

It wasn’t idle gossip, since the boss herself mentioned it in no uncertain terms,

“You won’t be able to harm me, so steer clear of social media. I’m familiar with the tactics Gen Z employs.

Using AI is not permitted, and I want the report to be delivered by this evening.”

Today was her first day at her new job, and she thought she was prepared.

She wished she had been taught to deal with toxicity in the coaching classes. The academic credentials could be binned.

  1. Great job picturing the struggles dealing with a toxic superior.

When expectations don’t go your way, it’s actually on you to protect your inner psyche.

That’s your voice of reasoning, literally.

Nothing like walking into a hostile environment, but what doesn’t break you, makes.

Consider that an extension to this lady’s story. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Scandals and frauds have emerged in the last organisation I worked with. The CEO and other top executives were asked to resign. This lady (not exactly a femme fatale, but toxic) was in the news for her misbehaviour, after a whistleblower complaint. Since I’ve known the styles of people involved, the news reports keep playing on my mind.
