Do not reveal dreams
-a rumpus is raised
by those who don’t figure in it
They tear it to shreds,
wish you a thorny future
There’s a price to be paid
for blooming in deserts
for walking alone
footprints wiped out
by resentful followers
Do not reveal dreams
-a rumpus is raised
by those who don’t figure in it
They tear it to shreds,
wish you a thorny future
There’s a price to be paid
for blooming in deserts
for walking alone
footprints wiped out
by resentful followers
Reena, this feels sharp and true—“a rumpus is raised / by those who don’t figure in it” hits me hard. I feel the defiance in your desert bloom, choosing to stand tall even when footprints vanish.

Reena, I can totally relate to this. We must accept ourselves and stand by who we are. “Like” and “dislike” are way overrated but so much importance seems to be placed on them in social media.

It is not just social media. Every gossip circle ridicules those who are different. Corporates call it “not the right cultural fit.” Racism is serious far beyond the scope of 44 words.

Just came across a quote – “The most common form of despair is not being who you are.”

A profound and powerful poem in just 44 words, Reena!

I enjoyed your rosy rumpus, Reena. There is indeed a ‘’price to be paid for blooming in deserts’ and walking alone, but we just have to do it, don’t we?

Absolutely. We don’t even want to consider alternatives if there are any.

Don’t we see this non-acceptance everywhere?
