she walks through life
covering others with flexibility
of her extended limbs
-omnipresent, omniscient
yet invisible
-a woman of no importance
who wears decisions taken by others
carries the weight of repressed desires
on her angular shoulders
-cut her veins
the blood is blue
but there is no crown
on her pretty head

Such strength a woman can have.

Reena, so powerfully raw, exploring themes of invisibility, unacknowledged strength, and the cost of living in the service of others.🙌

We are tired of carrying that burden.

Women are the power behind most men… Still not acknowledged or compensated. I love how this poem states it all as fact and not conjecture. There is no room for quibbling or disagreement!!

It is a hard fact. The system survives with the help of women, unfortunately.

It is true – there would have to be a worldwide strike and then a refusal to bend…. and women wouldn’t do that because our hearts are too big.

Thanks Reena… I just wish there was a shift in the hearts of so many men in power…

Why should they surrender power? We need to be assertive to not let them dominate. Just asking for boundaries, not enter someone else’s arena.

I wasn’t suggesting that women take over – just that the men in power recognize the major contribution women make toward the stability of the home and of society. A few men could tip the scales and make respect of women the norm instead of the exception.

This is powerful. “-omnipresent, omniscient
yet invisible” Isn’t that the story of woman? “of no importance” but her blood is blue. She carries the world.

Thank you so much! Women are now asking for visibility, and they get labelled as shrews.

Reena, this one feels powerful to me—your line “the blood is blue / but there is no crown” really sticks. Such a striking way to show quiet strength and invisibility at once.

How beautifully you convey a poignant message about the silent strength of women, the societal pressures they face, and the unacknowledged complexities of their lives.
Sometimes I find your writing esoteric.
