The first sentence that caught my attention as a writing prompt was “Why don’t we stand up to bullies?”
I believe evil is pulverised and far too amorphous now to be fought. It is not like we attack and conquer a fort where the monsters live, and live happily ever after. The monsters have sown their seeds everywhere, and different variations of them will keep popping up.
We heard of a weak echo of MAGA here – MIGA (Make India Great Again). The leaders love showing off camaraderie, but it did not protect India from tariffs.
Then, Tesla gets a 15% waiver on import duty. Manufacturing in India would have generated employment, to say the least, but that is on the back burner.
A lot more is happening, but this is only to mention the hollowness of political statements. Supporters do not realise that they make a pathetic sight. Sometimes, I am audacious enough to dream of party-less politics where all candidates are independent and chosen on merit. But the sheer economics of elections in a country of 1.4 billion will not let it happen.

The world is full of bullies who take what they want and nobody likes them, and everybody submits to them, because we don’t know how to stop them.
