Welcome to the club with blindfolds
promise not to see anything more than
what benefits us
Leave ethical baggage behind
you won’t sink with stones around your neck
If storms rock the boat
Hold on tight to each other
Do not divulge secrets
Till we find a submarine
and go underwater
Then, if you are lucky
Even you may leave
-Alive, but muted
for spoken truth
takes you closer to jail
and a damaged reputation.
You are welcome
If you remember
You’ll never be the same again
Shadows are illusions
Shadows are shapeshifters
who slithered out of their human existence

Excellent write, Reena.

Stunning write, Reena! ❤️❤️ I resonate with;
“Then, if you are lucky
Even you may leave
-Alive, but muted
for spoken truth.”

True. They impact relationships if you have different perspectives.

Very well written, Reena. Your closing sums it up very well. When you sell pieces of your soul you become les and less a human being!

Read today about the fallout between Musk and Trump and can’t help but wonder if it isn’t just another conspiracy, another shadow-play? Can’t trust anything these days.

Both are megalomaniacs, and money maniacs. They can fall apart and come together if it helps them make a fortune.

Reena, “Shadows are shapeshifters / who slithered out of their human existence” really struck me—there’s something chilling and mesmerizing in that imagery.
It seems to me that your entire piece pulses with a quiet dread, and this closing image deepens the unease in a powerful way.

I feel like this may be a club where joining is not an option once you have been inside- Very nicely told.

Fits in with some of the murder mysteries I’ve been watching; including ‘Sherlock & Daughter’ a special series on our CW channel.
