Take me where the demons live
I want to learn how they kill love
Peace lies cold in a graveyard far
It wonders what the soldiers died for
There’s power, greed, a hunger fierce
They turn all good into a stupid farce
I stand alive and thinking, but I stand alone
Let them destroy everything, then align

hi, Reena 😃
Just wanna let you know that this week’s W3, hosted for the very first time by the amazing Dennis Johnstone, is now live:

I like the way your poem is topical without losing poetic tension — the pararhyme keeps everything just a little off-kilter, which suits the prompt perfectly. Cold truths in a cold world. Well crafted..

Reena this is a wonderful use of the pararhyme! I love it! (You captured the essence of the times – past and present)!

When everything is destroyed, it will all be destroyed again. Your poem makes me feel anger and sadness.

Come out of it, for there is not much we can do about it. 🙂

Reena, I feel the pararhyme in “farce” and “fierce” adds a haunting tension that really fits your theme. The whole piece chills me with quiet defiance.
