When the soul’s lease agreement with the body nears its expiry date, I see the irrelevance of other contracts.
Duality has never been so transparent and evident as in the almost posthumous messages invading my fading consciousness.
The internet enthuses me as a carefully orchestrated image stares back at me. Mirror it is not, as the vanishing mask lends visibility to a fragile, vulnerable self.
If someone were to offer a renewal of the contract today, with a different set of terms and conditions, I might still choose to reject it.
Life is about navigating the unknown, and I have surpassed the desire to know more.

The journey was the purpose, all along…

We often fail to see the journey as the purpose.

And yet some hold tight, and fight to keep the lease going as long as possible.

There are many who do that and could end up making life miserable for everyone around them.
I guess a belief in reincarnation should make life people look forward to a renewed existence. Maybe people need to be trained to face death as a welcome inevitability, as they are taught to face life.

surely it is this illusion of ‘more than’ that is our earthbound self tries to sell us during life… the illusion of life as an endless series of choices rather than the (for more difficult) acceptance of there being a single view (possible, not easy, but possible)
fun Six, thought-provoking

Well, that was a punch in the gut. I feel kind of the same. While I don’t just want to give up, should life present me the scenario that the end is right in front of me, I feel like I’m ok with just letting everything go.

I would do the same.

You have described the metaphor “lease on life” well. I realize I didn’t understand it before.
How well the metaphor fits reality is another question.

Words change meaning with interpretation. We form mental images with words and those could be different.
