Welcome back!
FEATURED CONTRIBUTION
A poem by Indira – Link given in Weekly Wrap below
Celebrate your victory
That you have broken the shackles of evil customs
But in your jubilation, do not forget those unfortunate ones who are still in darkness
Half of them who truly want to be free
Would like to hold your leg and fly with you
And would hinder you in flying
Others who think they are happy in their darkness, ignorance
For whatever reason, perhaps fear
They would hold your leg and stop you from flying
Would like you to stoop to their level
So that you cannot rise above them
Take everyone along and touch the heights
So that the path to freedom becomes easy and permanent
Some dared to tear their veils
Some dared to break the chains of corruption
Some dared to dream big
Some dared to take a high flight
They were first attacked
They were hurt
Some were burnt alive
Some were defamed
For those,
Who did not accept defeat even after much suffering and humiliation
The sky opened its arms to embrace and solace
But
Don’t get carried away by the joy of small victories.
Some fights never end,
especially
the fights for self-respect and rights.
The opponent always looks for
an opportunity to humiliate you again.
PROMPT #372
I am borrowing Eugenia’s inimitable style for this prompt. It will be a Writer’s Choice prompt.
diversity held
in the rainbow symphony
unified spectrum
Use the image or any of the nouns in the above haiku to base your piece on. You may or may not use the word, but mention the theme word for our information. You can also explore the opposite side, like a lack of unity or diversity.
The format of the piece is not restricted, and there is no last date either unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.
We will not include any post that is found to be offensive, vulgar or hurts ordinary sensibilities. This needs to be a safe space.
Create a post on your blog and copy-paste the link in the Comments. If you use a pingback, check to see if it has worked.

Thanks for writing such thoughtful comments in response to my posts. Your sincerity is valuable.
