So much openness

breaking unity of the bricks to let a few secrets out
windows challenge closed doors and frozen thoughts
welcome the wind, let in the clouds and rain
I stand drenched in myths, tales beyond my reach
Not knowing how to weave so much openness
Into a story; I deny entry to truth and shut the window.

  1. Ah, Reena, you nailed my struggle — “Not knowing how to weave so much openness into a story” — To completely shut the window or to figure out how to let a little breeze/light/truth in.

What a thought-provoking poem! Well done.

  2. That opening line is forceful and stunning, preparing us for a breakthrough that, ironically, never comes. Instead, for all the brick-breaking, the window is closed. What a fine poem, Reena! To divest ourselves of constraining myths and discover our own story, is harder than stepping back into the stories created for us.
