breaking unity of the bricks to let a few secrets out
windows challenge closed doors and frozen thoughts
welcome the wind, let in the clouds and rain
I stand drenched in myths, tales beyond my reach
Not knowing how to weave so much openness
Into a story; I deny entry to truth and shut the window.
So much openness

Awesome. Sometimes the truth is suffocating…
Excellent take, Reena.

Denying entry to truth doesn’t change it from being truth. Excellent six.

Absolutely. But people construct their comfort zones in this manner. Thank you, Mimi!

Ah, Reena, you nailed my struggle — “Not knowing how to weave so much openness into a story” — To completely shut the window or to figure out how to let a little breeze/light/truth in.
What a thought-provoking poem! Well done.

I think sometimes we try to weave too much into one tapestry, and instead of finding balance, leave out some very important threads. Very thought provoking write, Reena.

More than that, we want to see only what we like to see.

I love the imagery of windows challenging closed doors and frozen thoughts. There is a courage to opening up to explore. Wonderful poem.

That opening line is forceful and stunning, preparing us for a breakthrough that, ironically, never comes. Instead, for all the brick-breaking, the window is closed. What a fine poem, Reena! To divest ourselves of constraining myths and discover our own story, is harder than stepping back into the stories created for us.

You are so right. The breakthrough can happen in the story, if I extend it beyond six lines.
Thanks for the value-adding comment!

Too much openeness is alas often overwhelming.

It is about a lack of structure. In this case, it is about comfort zones.

Reena, I feel a powerful tension in this—openness battling restraint. The imagery is striking, and that final line lingers with me ❤
