Why did I take so long to realise that the entity, a metaphorical representation of my inner struggles and fears, guiding and driving me through the convoluted paths was only a shadow?
I presumed it was real and knew a lot more than me.
It’s a revelation that what I thought was real and knowledgeable was just a reflection of my darker self – the part ruled by fear, dislike, and painful memories.
A quirk of fate caused the vehicle to jump and throw it out. It couldn’t stand on its feet, and the river showed it in a different light.
Despite not having wings, I feel a sense of readiness to soar.
Yes, light is how I feel and what I see – the path ahead.

‘Yes, light is how I feel and what I see – the path ahead.’
Alas, it takes a fare amount of time to realize, at least for some.
Excellent take, Reena. So unique.

Thanks! I played around with the dual meaning of ‘light’. And yes, you are right. It takes a long time to reach that stage.

Believe in it enough and real it becomes. A great tale, Reena.

True that. Tell yourself or tell others. In a post-truth era, beliefs matter more than facts. Thank you, Mason!

It is scary how real the convoluted truths we tell ourselves can become. Excellent write, Reena.
