I was amused at the irate remark of a mother raising a hyperactive toddler, “How I wish there were a remote control to stop you. I’d stop you in one place and throw the device away.”
Months later, she pleaded with the doctor to make him run again. He was down with a high fever.
Medical science is all about matching, replenishing and adjusting energy levels in the body.
Organisational behaviour management is about keeping people on track to meet specific goals.
Relationship management is about synergy and matching wavelengths.
Climate change worries us because the Sun, which we love and worship, is getting too close for comfort as intermediary layers disappear.
Energy is a potent force that propels our world from the tiniest particles to the expansive universe. It powers our daily routines, drives our industries, and sustains our planet. Yet, the true benefit of energy is realised when it aligns with our needs and objectives. When it doesn’t, it can turn destructive, causing harm and disorder. This concept is beautifully encapsulated in the idea that ‘any form of energy is beneficial only when it aligns with our wavelengths or the requirements of a desired process. Otherwise, it can wreak havoc. Taming the devil is more crucial than understanding it.’
The Dual Nature of Energy
Energy, in its various forms, has the potential to be both a boon and a bane. Consider fire, one of humanity’s earliest discoveries. When controlled, fire provides warmth, cooks food, and powers engines. But it can devastate forests, homes, and lives when it rages unchecked. Similarly, nuclear energy can generate vast amounts of electricity, but if mishandled, it can lead to catastrophic disasters like Chornobyl and Fukushima.
Matching Energy to Our Needs
The key to effectively harnessing energy is matching it to our specific needs and processes. This requires a deep understanding of the energy source, its properties, and its potential impacts. For instance, renewable energy sources like solar and wind are excellent for reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainability. However, they must be integrated into the grid in a way that ensures reliability and stability, as their intermittent nature can pose challenges.
In our personal lives, the alignment of energy with our needs is equally significant. Consider our mental and emotional energy. Engaging in activities that resonate with our passions and values can lead to fulfillment and productivity. Conversely, expending energy on tasks that drain us or conflict with our core beliefs can lead to burnout and dissatisfaction. This understanding empowers us to make conscious choices about where we invest our energy.
Taming the Devil
The phrase ‘taming the devil’ in this context emphasises the importance of controlling and directing energy rather than merely understanding it. Knowledge alone is insufficient; we must also develop the skills and strategies to manage energy effectively. This involves setting boundaries, creating systems, and making informed choices.
In the context of technology, taming the devil might mean implementing robust cybersecurity measures to protect against malicious attacks. In environmental conservation, it could involve adopting sustainable practices to mitigate the impact of climate change. In our personal lives, it might mean practising mindfulness and self-care to maintain our mental and emotional well-being.
Conclusion
Energy is a double-edged sword that can either empower or destroy. By aligning energy with our needs and processes, we can harness its potential for good. Taming the devil requires knowledge and the wisdom to manage and direct energy effectively. As we navigate the complexities of our modern world, let us be inspired to match our energy to our wavelengths and tame the devil within.

Nice post, Reena as you gave us a lot to think about. Fire is an exothermic reaction process where thermal energy is released and is transformed into light and heat. When the right substances are combined with oxygen combustion takes place through radiation, convection, and conduction. Humans’ ability to control fire is among the most important technological advances in our evolution. Fire will spread and destroy everything in its path if don’t learn how to control it.

If dams were not built, water can be equally destructive. We haven’t found a way to tame wind and rain, so storms keep happening.

This is a very well-presented article, Reena. Taming the devil within is most important. There will always be some with a destructive mindset. Tame one, and hundreds will sprout elsewhere. Sur and Asura will always be there side by side. There will always be a threat of misuse, but that can’t stop the progress.

So glad you liked it. I like the Sura-Asura analogy too.

Reminds me of Nietzsche’s quote, “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” Very well-presented argument.
