“Ensure you don’t repeat the same mistakes you always do”.
“You are talking about the image you have of me, not the real me,” Amina’s voice quivered, revealing the depth of her struggle.
Tim was nonplussed for a moment. For the past few years, he had been locked in a relentless battle with himself, each punch and jab landing on the phantom Amina he had trained himself not to like.
It became a ritual, a way to escape the truth of his inadequacies and bask in the glory of his imagined prowess.
Optimist Amina’s eyes held a glimmer of hope that Tim would one day see the light and break free from the shadows of his own making.

Wonderful ♥️

Let’s hope she sees the danger and gets out/away before he really hurts her…Red flags for me!😳

Amina, though she perseveres in her struggle is sufficiently astute to recognize Tim’s own struggle and projection onto her of what perhaps are his flaws.
No easy path to “self-actualization”.

All of us, to a degree, carry a picture in our minds of what we think others are like. It might or might not be accurate.

It is fine as long as we don’t impose those opinions on others.

Yeah … Destroying the other’s peace in the process.

It actually sounds like they are both fantasizing a negative view of the other to justify themselves. The narrator makes this clear about Tim and by reflection one can see it in Anima as well.
