the courtyard looks morose today
separated from the verandah by grills
energy flow blocked
by the end of camaraderie
early darkness of wintry nights
pushing people into warm beds
lacking what fired them
-companionship
moonlight shining on dreams
sleeping on the terrace
on together summer nights
a distant memory
fading into oblivion
new goals overtake life
challenges abound
the world is not always round

Reena,
I really like how this poem captures the mood of solitude and the passage of time! There’s a real sense of longing and change here. Beautifully expressed!
