What lies behind is more than horror
enough to break a robust mirror

Is that evil or weakness highly strung
in fear of being avenged or wrung?

How far can a criminal go
to cover tracks dirty and low?

Do you remember your just-born face
before you won and found a place?

It has been a battle of power and greed
Keeping what you robbed more than what you need

You terrorise others to keep them away
To prevent honesty from holding sway

Your success lies in protecting secrets
Cringe-worthy within, but firing bullets

Find a hook; hang your real self bare
You might need it in moments of dare
