“Is this a house?”
“It looks like an old-fashioned inn we read about in story books”.
“It’s not inspiring enough for me to get in,” Ted said, turning his face away with an upturned nose.
So we walked on, the anticipation of finding a place that would satisfy Ted’s taste and my rumbling stomach keeping us going.
I’m no history buff, but I couldn’t help feeling a pang of regret for potentially missing out on a story that the old structure might be holding.
Maybe the stewardess has a story about an exotic dish I will sample. Hope never dies.

I like how you turned the pain of missing out on a story into a story!

I guess it was the mood of the moment 😊 I did not feel compelled to explore the picture further.

Certainly a place to check out later 🙂

This sure looks like an interesting building to me! I’d go inside in a flash!

And come out or stay there with a story 😊

When you are hungry, the search for a good restaurant and a meal is an adventure. You are never sure of the ending, until you begin.

True. I’ve met tourists who come with a guide book and visit only the joints mentioned there. They miss out on a lot more.

A writer is always looking for where the best stories are and best meal is not a bad second goal!

Cuisines have a lot of stories to tell.

Sometimes the prompts are difficult. Love your take on it, though. I grew up in a little town that had a downtown of antique store fronts built in the late 1800’s. I could, and have, written many a curious tale about their hidden passages (yes, many had been used during the time of slavery to get people north). Maybe I’ll go there with my story. 2 days out from moving, things are hectic and harried here. Shalom, Bear

Wishing you all the best, Bear! But you got it right that even I found the prompt difficult.

I lay on my cot last night and thought of an excellent story… should have gotten up and written it then. now, in the morn, I can’t remember what it was.

The stewardess almost certainly has only beef or chicken. Hers is the triumph of hope over experience
