I chose the Curtal Sonnet format.
She asked with a smile and twinkling blue eyes
Will you be my friend for a little while?
The moment forever etched in my mind.
I bent down to greet, but only to rise,
To shake her hand and flash a dimpled smile
How I wished the daintiness to be mine…
Raising its head now was a suspicion
But why did she say for a little while?
Reason driving attraction round the bend
Do I feel envy or competition?
I withdrew my hand.

The difference that a moment can make… Well written, Reena!

Sometimes the only way to salvage a friendship is to walk away for a bit.

A true word about how some friendship develop and end all with the same seed of action. This was a clever twist.

How interesting that suspicion can stop a friendship before it begins.

This is so good, Reena! Ya know, I’d never heard of a “Curtal sonnet” until I read about it on that website ๐ ~ I’m really glad that you wrote one – did you enjoy this form?

Yes. It is easier to write than the regular sonnet.
