Did we ever stop to discover sterling qualities in each other?
Ideologically, we were on opposite sides of an imaginary fence. We lived at cross-purposes and tried never to cross each other’s paths.
When I started writing, I learned to explore and develop characters’ mindsets. I found myself thinking of you more often, and I did not know why.
I walked on your footprints, and something inside me changed.
Forgiveness? No, just empathy and understanding.
We could have been good friends today, only if you had lived a little longer.
Only if I could let you peek into my thoughts…

This was a very sad story and a sober reminder that it’s ok to open up and share. 😦

Poignant and bittersweet.
I’m drawn to the line: “I walked on your footprints, and something inside me changed.” Beautiful imagery and use of the prompt!

Wow! blows my mind this morning! Very good write. Forgiveness? yes, forgetting – No! I, too, have developed characters based on real people… it comes with the show, right. but, for some reason, never that particular person.

It’s not easy to enter a tormentor’s mind. There are some zones where you don’t want to enter again.
