Light, after a brief pause, makes itself known,
Welcomed as dawn—a fresh beginning
But what if it were ever-present, never gone?
Endless light, no night—a perpetual day.
Imagine Earth bathed in unending brights,
No sinking sun behind the horizon’s flow.
Blackout curtains would be our daily woe,
We celebrate the Sun’s inadequacy, you know.
Moon and stars, invisible to our sight,
Claim omnipresence like angels divine
East or West, tired eyes find no rest
Edison toils, inventing darkness each night.
Will Earth sway, or will the Sun stay still?
A burning planet seeks blue ice’s cool display.
Under withering trees, it finds solace at times
Shades appear cool, but their comfort won’t stay.
new gods emerge from North and South
light and brightness – levels redefined
rainbow hues form boundaries on Earth
Black and white surrender to spectrums new
My blues outshine the yellows you flaunt,
Orange and red hide, in central green urn
Violet and indigo stream, ebony a dream
Fashion cloaks itself before skins burn
The Sun’s strategy- both demure, mature
shifts us to other sides, under azure skies.
Each half experiences life in parts
anticipates wholeness granted by God
A smaller world, easier to rule and sway,
Half asleep, half active; controlled chaos
Clocks and dates keep them chasing Time
Sun and God wield Ethos, Logos, Pathos

Genius: “Edison toils, inventing darkness each night.”

Hi Reena, this is a great take. Endless day with no night would be awful.

well if this was not an easy write it is certainly a gorgeous read
“We celebrate the Sun’s inadequacy, you know.” – brilliant line and yes we appreciate the dawn because there is night

Nicely done, Reena. I don’t think I could cope without night, ‘bathed in unending brights’ and ‘no sinking sun behind the horizon’s flow’. These colourful lines grabbed me:
‘My blues outshine the yellows you flaunt,
Orange and red hide, in central green urn
Violet and indigo stream, ebony a dream’.
