she excels in her craft
holds on to figments of truth
makes them masquerade as real
constructs deceptive webs
gets lost in the maze
Deep inside, she knows
other worlds are out of reach
they’ve closed doors
to someone who dares
who bares
wounds
she excels in her craft
holds on to figments of truth
makes them masquerade as real
constructs deceptive webs
gets lost in the maze
Deep inside, she knows
other worlds are out of reach
they’ve closed doors
to someone who dares
who bares
wounds
Gorgeous work done, Reena!

To shield yourself is alas needed, but once you break the shell you are ready to fight the world.

I am most especially struck by the first stanza of your poem…..placed “out of reach” in essence, by the spacing, from the second stanza. The danger is when people keep weaving the same “figments” of their imagination, the “alternative realities” – the more they’re weaved, the more embedded they become in listeners’ ears as well as in the speakers and then people begin to accept and stop questioning.
A thoughtful poem that really got me thinking.

Easy to “get lost in the maze” and yet once she dared to bare her wounds and … survive. There is strength in that, and power.

You have the worth to shine leaving others only to stop you until you are beyond their hold.
