The annual performance review is battle time, and this company is like many others, where diversity and inclusion initiatives are mere lip service.
Shinjini, with a determined look, met the CEO’s gaze as he stumbled over his words, clearly uncomfortable. “Your performance is undeniably exceptional, but we must strive for consistency across the board.”
“Sure, Sir, but please ensure it is a level playground for all, and we have a transparent promotion process with salary equity audits.”
The CEO raised an eyebrow and faced her unyielding gaze before closing the meeting.
Weeks later, Shinjini obtained funding for a startup to help women climb the career ladder and remain financially independent.
Ironically, she needed male support to launch the initiative, yet she remained resolute, determined to pave the way for those who would follow.

The men who truly support women (as my father did) are heroes and I wish we could clone them, or inject their attitude into others.

You are so lucky to have had such a father. I agree they should be cloned.

It will happen 🙂 We need to junk the impostor syndrome and start taking charge. They are not better than us.

I hope that it does. The world would be a better place for it.

There is nothing wrong with having male support.
