I wonder if a thief lives here.
One of my tees hangs on the rack, but I’ve never been here before, and it doesn’t look like a laundry either.
A closer look reveals it is two sizes smaller than I wear and looks famished without my ego bloating it up.
My tee was not a limited edition piece created by a designer. Anybody can get hold of something as commonplace as that.
Yet, I turn back. I don’t want to see someone else wearing it – someone who is not as unique and deserving as I am to embellish a garment.

When I was a teenager if someone wore the same thing as me I would never wear it again! I wanted so much to be different and a fashion designer, neither of which ever really happened. This story jogged my memory of that. I wasn’t as vain as thinking I wore it better, but it’s still something only teenage me would care about.

Most of us go through that phase. My mother was skillful enough to check out new designs from books and sew lovely dresses for me. At least, it ensured that no one else was wearing the same thing.

Having a mom who sews is so great, but I didn’t. I tried to learn how to sew but I’m not very good.

This is the age of online shopping and off-the-rack purchases. 😊

I liked that line: “looks famished without my ego bloating it up.” Nice take on this prompt. 🙂

Well at least she knows herself and she’s consistent. Nothing worse than seeing someone else wearing your favorite shirt though. She’s not alone thinking that would be horrible.

An interesting piece that shows the emotional process of a self centred egoist.

That’d be a surreal experience, seeing one of your shirts out in the wild. Come to think of it, I don’t think I ever have, except maybe a school shirt that my co-workers also have. Good story.

I really like this. When the person turns around do they take the garment thereby becoming the thief? 😃
