I suppress a yawn while listening to another story of millions and crores and how the speaker saw herself perched on a peak, looking down at the unfortunate have-nots.
Having worked in a bank and managed books worth thousands of crores, money fails to fascinate me. There was always a fear of repercussions if I happened to mismanage someone else’s money. Business development tasks often put me face-to-face with an arrogance that comes with money, while I could see hollowness in that personality.
Yet, the client or boss can buy power to be used on me with the same money tool.
Paradoxes in life can put one in a fine mess, mixing up narratives and confusing value systems.
Note: In Indian parlance, a crore equals ten million and is a widely used wealth unit.

Your Six brings to mind the saying “money is at the root of all evil”.
Large amounts seem to have the power of altering people and not always for the better. Or perhaps, it simply reveals the “real” person.
Good Six, Reena.

The power that money can buy is at the root of all evil. Money does not know what is it buying.
Thank you, Denise!

The values are most confused right now, it seems to me, and I wonder where we will all be when the house of cards collapses.
