Despite the shine
I blacken my behind
to enable reflection
I’m not the internet
yet – a storehouse
of veritable information
your myriad forms
and secrets
locked inside
I stay prepared
to reflect all
who face me
from the front
or just glide
Why am I afraid
of being stabbed in the back?
a human may want
to delete the unpalatable
unable to digest
differences
between fact and fable
-such are human foibles
-such are life’s crucibles
to hold reality,
perspectives and
all that lies
in connecting cables
I also give the translation of a couplet by Saint Kabir
Soil says to Potter, why should your feet crush me
A day will arrive when you will lie beneath me…

Bravo Reena! Very nice and I did really enjoy your poem!

I like how it recognizes that not everyone stops and stares, sometimes it is the glance as they glide by! Bravo!

The mirror sometimes is the only place where we look into our own souls. Thanks for bringing it to life!

Reena this one is a delight! It captures the reality of the reflection and the perspective of the one thus captured. I love that the mirror doesn’t judge…

The metaphor of the mirror, some people don’t want to look into it. This poem reflects the truth like a mirror.

I am one of those who have grown weary of the mirror 🙂

Reena, I love how the metaphor of being a mirror reflects the poem’s introspective tone and invites readers to contemplate their own vulnerabilities and insecurities!
Wonderful!

It’s beautiful. From blackening the back to stabbing in the back. And leading gently towards the aspect of today’s society. Of not respecting opinions.
