This picture reminded me of a disaster in North India, where 41 workers were trapped in a tunnel that caved in. It took a village of tunnelling experts and 17 days to rescue all of them.
Find details here.
Let it not be the last time
you walk inside tunnels
and hold a beacon
your entry starts a job
ensure finish to perfection
walk out with glory
you are an achiever
Let it not be the last time
You are honoured
for all the wrong reasons
Bring back stories of unity
Courage in adversity
Salute all those who toiled
To bring you out alive
Let it not be the last time
You are lauded
For a task well-done

Those 17 days were hevy for everyone, Reena. Beautifully written.

A lovely ode to responders that risk their own lives to help those in dreadful situations. Brava!

It’s a nice ode to all those, Reena ji. Hailing from the same state, I must thank you for this.
