Twist of Mystery

Going far, going far
Into a brave new world
Carrying the gist of me
And my memory
To be valued or discarded
As scraps of history

Going far, going far
Orwellian documentation
of phenomenal imagination
surpassed by the real world
challenged by the Future
-laughable limitations

Going far, going far
where the terms have changed
I discard history, memory
to invent a new me
till I un-see my old self
irrelevant chicanery

Going slow, going slow
-mindful meditation
-enriched moments
envied by eras passing by
territorial tales wrapped
in a twist of mystery

  1. Our minds are powerful time machines capable of more than just visiting the past and recreating it. They can make us un-see our old selves like you put it in imagined futures where the rules that universe are different. Very thought provoking piece.

      1. Where the rules of the universe are different* sorry typo. I read this piece as the imagination having no bounds. But I can completely see where you’re coming from. People do invent lies and start believing them. The mind can be dangerously creative.
