Summer’s Dreams

What does summer dream about?
When the days are long and hot
And the nights are short and cool
Does it dream of winter’s chill
Or of spring’s refreshing thrill?

Does it dream of autumn’s hues
Or of snowflakes’ gentle kiss
Does it dream of rainy days
Or of clouds that drift away?

Does it dream of ocean waves
Or of mountains’ lofty peaks
Does it dream of forests green
Or of deserts’ golden sheen?

Does it dream of love and joy
Or of sorrow and despair
Does it dream of peace and calm
Or of chaos and alarm?

What does summer dream about?
I wonder what it sees
Maybe it dreams of nothing at all
And just enjoys the breeze.
